With an enthusiastic group of about 15 participants, we collected an impressive 28.5 kg of litter during the first Clean Up Walk in Sloterdijk Nieuw-West. The event was organized by Green Business Club Amsterdam Sloterdijken, in collaboration with Athora Netherlands, Stichting Samen voor Later, and Milieu Service Nederland.
On Tuesday, May 20, participants gathered at the Athora building on Basisweg for a collective cleanup of the area. In just an hour and a half, under a radiant sun, a remarkable amount of litter was collected.
“A great turnout for the first Clean Up Walk,” said Eveline Klok, program manager at GBC Amsterdam Sloterdijken.
“It was a fun way to explore the area, talk with each other, and of course, collect litter.“
The success of this first edition leaves us wanting more. Several organizations in the area have already expressed interest in hosting future editions.
