About Us

Green Business Club Amsterdam Sloterdijken is a local initiative focused on making the Sloterdijk Nieuw-West area more sustainable through hands-on collaboration.

Since 2021 we unite companies, governments and knowledge institutions to share knowledge and resources, monitor results, and scale successful solutions.

By working together, we reduce environmental impact, improve the work environment, and future-proof the Sloterdijk area.

We meet regularly, collect data, and take direct action. No vague goals, just practical steps toward a cleaner, more efficient district.

What Our Members Say

Through the collaboration of our organization and Eveline Klok at the National Program Together New West, we also started talking about the GBC Sloterdijken. After a number of introductory conversations and attending the GBC Cafe, we quickly saw the added value in becoming a participant and thus contributing to the ambitions of the Green Business Club. A good example of this added value is that an employer I spoke to during a networking event of the GBC Sloterdijken recently participated in a job fair organized by us in Nieuw-West.

Amsterdam is an important working area for Alliander. With two locations in Amsterdam Sloterdijk, Alliander feels even more connected to the city and this district. In 2023, Alliander realized a location on Noordzeeweg 4 that is sustainable, flexible, scalable, and modular. This way, the impact of the building on the environment is limited, and the location can be adapted to possibly changing needs in the future. The basis for this 'sustainable and intelligent development' was sought in the values and sustainability strategy of Alliander and in connection with the sustainability ambitions of the Municipality of Amsterdam and the Sloterdijk district. From those values and sustainability strategy, Alliander also likes to work on connecting with other organizations in this district. Sustainability is important to Alliander, and we implement it in our real estate as part of our social example role. By sharing knowledge and collaborating where possible, we can make a greater impact with sustainability.
